Als filmmaakster Tatjana Božić voor de zoveelste keer de liefde van haar leven heeft gevonden en het wederom helemaal mis dreigt te gaan, besluit ze dat het roer om moet. Deze relatie moet slagen! Tatjana reist langs vijf exen in Moskou, Hamburg, Londen en Zagreb om antwoord te vinden op de vraag waarom al haar liefdesrelaties altijd stuk lopen. Met een flinke dosis zelfspot, maar ook met diep doorvoelde passie, ontrafelt ze haar liefdesverleden en confronteert ze haar (ex-)mannen en zichzelf met de complexiteit van het hedendaagse liefhebben. De documentaire is een confronterende, voor iedereen herkenbare, emotionele, maar ook humoristische film waarin de maakster stug door blijft zoeken naar de heilige graal van het liefhebben: het Happily Ever After!
Happily Ever After ging tijdens het IFFR in premiere en zat in de competitie voor de Tiger Awards. De film wordt in de Benelux gedistribueerd door Cineart en in voormalig Joegoslavië door Restart.
